LTA Starter Tennis Tournament

Bognor Lawn Tennis Club hosted an LTA starter tennis tournament on Wednesday August 14th, which attracted entries from Clubs such as Angmering and Tunbridge Wells, and others from around the local area. The standard of play was good and some very close games were played. The morning session was for age groups under 9 and under 10:

U9 Winner: Sam Oakley (Angmering) Runner-up: Charlie La Foret (Bognor) 3rd place: Blaise Geoghegan (Bognor)

U10 Group A Winner: Milan Marriner (Bognor) Runner-up: Joe Metz (Bognor) Group B Winner: Kiran Laidlay (Wickwoods) Runner-up: Simon Spurrier (Bognor) Semi-Finals: Milan Marriner beat Simon Spurrier Joe Metz beat Kiran Laidlay Final: Milan Marriner beat Joe Metz 3rd and 4th play-off: Kiran Laidlay beat Simon Spurrier

The afternoon session was for age groups under 12 and under 14. U12 Winner: Milan Marriner (Bognor) Runner-up: Roshan Laidlay (Wickwoods) 3rd place: Crystal Bailey (Bognor)

U14 3 players finished with a total of 25 games from the group matches. On countback the result was: Winner: Chris Tucker (Bognor) - 4 wins Runner-up: Chris Smith (Bognor) - 3 wins 3rd place: Dean Blanke (Bognor) - 2 wins
