A Home Zone creates a safer environment for children to play outside their homes.
That a Home Zone's aim is to change the role and function of the street, through design and feel.
By changing the atmosphere of an area - people are encouraged to stop and chat with their neighbours.
That in principle a Low Speed Zone ensures that traffic entering a Home Zone takes into consideration the residents by enforcing an appropriate speed limit.
A Home Zone and Low Speed Zone can encourage the community to travel safely in their neighbourhood.
Where will the Home Zone and Low Speed Zone be?
Carefully selected streets will be designated as agreed with our team of engineering consultants and public consultation. The scheme will benefit you - so we need your help!
How can I get involved?
Come along to the Westloats Lane Community Centre on 31st August from 10-4pm. A light lunch and refreshments will be available.
Children's activities and competitions will be held throughout the day.
Staff will be on hand to explain the project and answer your questions.
