POCAG Meeting 5th May 2004

A meeting of the Group was held at The Glade Infants School on Wednesday 5th May 2004, starting at 7.00 pm.

MINUTES

Ron Black, Vice Chair, took the Chair for this meeting.

1 - Minutes of Last Meeting - The minutes were agreed as a true and accurate record of the meeting of 31st March 2004.

2 - Apologies and Matters Arising - Apologies were read from the members listed above. Under Matters Arising RO reported the resignation from the committee and the group of Vince McCabe, former Steering Group liaison representative. FM asked whether the Home Zone street lights would really be on 24 hrs per day, and GP explained that 24 hr street lights meant they were fitted with daylight sensors and would switch on and off as natural lighting dictated rather than being controlled by a timer.

3 - Report from the Steering Group - GP or KR to report to the next meeting as the Notes were not available for this meeting.

4 - Constitution - Suggestions were passed to the Group by the WSCC Legal Team as to changes that ought to be made to alleviate what they considered were areas of concern in the document as presented to them. The following amendments were agreed by the group, the Secretary to incorporate them into the document and re-submit for approval:

15 clear working days written notice to the Secretary, who will distribute to the other members of the Committee members by hand and e-mail RO to seek advice on Financial status of the Group Para. 19 - change specifically to solely

5 - Home Zone Planter Plans - GP displayed the Home Zone plan detailing approximate positions of planters and trees. A3 copies to be supplied by WSCC for street reps. to use for consultation with residents. Answers on actual fills and volunteers for maintenance of lower planters to next POCAG meeting.

6 - Any Other Business - GP offered suggestions for regaining residents' interest in participating in the Group and Committee and it's activities:- Leading into construction period 2 press releases - one from POCAG and one from WSCC - to be placed in the Observer, Guardian, and Gazette, and issued to Spirit FM. Complimentary letter to all residents prior to commencement of construction, and inviting greater involvement. Host a "Drop-In" event at Youth Club during construction.

7 - Date of Next Meeting - the next meeting will be held at 7.00 pm on Wednesday 30th June 2004 at the Glade Infants School.
