MINUTES
1 - Minutes of the Meetings of 24.09.03 and 19.11.03 - The minutes of
the last two Group meetings were accepted as a true and accurate record
of the proceedings at those meetings.
2 - Matters Arising - Nothing was raised under this item
3 & 4 - Draft Notes from Exhibition on 21st & 22nd November 2003, and
Draft 20 mph zone Newsletter - KR reported that the newsletters had been
posted today, and reminded the Group of the deadline for responses to
the newsletter was 20th January 2004. FM queried the availability of
paving / driveways to match surfaces proposed for Home Zone, and KR
reported that the deadline for applications under this scheme had
passed, and that the cost of dropping kerbs under this scheme is £300.
In reference to the Draft Notes from the exhibition FM queried the
terminology of item 1, wishing to clarify that Councillor Ockwell was
elected to the Council - not to this Group, and that the Group's name
was mis-stated in the title of item 1. KR agreed the Draft Notes would
be amended to reflect these comments in the final version.
KR also stated that a large plan of the area is currently on display at
the Arena Centre and will remain there until 20th January 2004.
5 - Constitution 2nd Draft - The second draft of the Constitution
document which was the 1st Draft with all amendments agreed at the last
meeting incorporated was presented along with a separate document of
suggestions to merge into the second draft. The Group spent the
remainder of the meeting considering the two documents and creating a
more acceptable document to be presented to the next meeting as the 3rd
Draft.
6 - Any Other Business - KR reported that the officials on the Home Zone
and 20 mph projects had participated in a half-day design awayday. She
also suggested giving consideration to the design of a 20 mph zone logo.
The group felt that an additional / alternative logo may cause confusion
so variations were suggested for the Home Zone logo to make it suitable
as a combined Home Zone and 20 mph Zone logo. RB raised points
concerning membership of the Group, and it was decided that all current
effort should be applied to the legal status of the Group with a view to
raising funds which would help to attract residents to join the Group
and regularly attend meetings,,etc. WH asked what arrangements were
being made to control hooliganism in the area once the projects are
completed and was told that it was hoped and intended that the
improvements would be self-policing by giving the incentive to
participants of hooliganism to keep the area in its new state.
7 - Date of Next Meeting - The date of the next meeting was set for 11th
February 2004, to be held at the Glade Infants School at 7.00 pm.
