  • Matters Arising - It was suggested that BRAG and POCAG committee members should attend each others meetings in order to facilitate the establishment of a working relationship between the two organisations. This was accepted in principal but due to the time this would take away from POCAG committee members working on the building of the legal identity, etc., of POCAG it was then proposed that maybe Fiona Mosley would take on the role of liaison between the two groups as she is a member of BRAG already. Fiona accepted this role.
  • Report from Steering Group - Kirsty Routledge reported that Angela Gill had now left WSCC and is replaced by Bernard Handley. The report mentioned the higher consideration now being applied to the possibility of gating the alleyways around the Home Zone and whether this could be extended to the Low Speed Zone also. The last Home Zone Workshops will be held on 31st October and 1st November 2003 at the Arena, as before. Home Zone works are scheduled to start in March 2004. One or more suitable locations within the Home Zone are being sought for parking of the Fun Bus. One suggested location was the Gravits Lane car park.
  • Report on Postal and Door-Knocking Campaign - Andrew Clark led a discussion on the possibility of this group offering more help to members of the community who need it for gardening, litter picking, etc.. Craig Stevens suggested the Outset organisation could help. It was also suggested that Town Force may help with gardens on a one-off basis prior to the official opening of the Home Zone.
  • Current Status of Street Reps - The Secretary reported that a letter had been sent by Kim Lampitt of SRA to all of the names on the current list of members, but during the discussion it was suggested that maybe a mailshot should go to all homes in the area. A deadline of 10th October 2003 was set for receipt of responses to SRA's letter asking for confirmation of street reps. Then alternative steps will be taken to confirm street reps.
  • Constitution - Despite looking on the website suggested by VM at the last meeting no information had been found. Andrew Clark has arranged for Morristown to send a copy of their constitution to evaluate and modify.
  • Any Other Business - Craig Stevens spoke about the Pevensey Project, inviting POCAG to join in with next summer's proposed festival. Sites suggested are Football Club, Rugby Club, and the Westloats Lane / Hampshire Avenue recreation ground.
  • Date of Next Meeting - The date of the next meeting was set for Wednesday 19th November 2003 at 7.00pm at the Glade Infants School.
