The most common mistake adults make when they do a CV is to use the old chronological formula and stick to one CV. This particular format does not usually do them justice and we must now consider using our common sense to format our CV as a marketing tool for our personality and skills.

Many adults have a wide range of experiences and skills but can find it difficult to present those efficiently on one page, particularly if their history has been patchy. However, employers may not take the time to read through more than one or two pages in order to find the skills they are looking for. Therefore, It is quite normal to have many CVs, depending on how many positions you want to apply for. You can match your CV to the job vacancy, letting your prospective employer know in 30 seconds that you are what they are looking for..Of course you should not lie about your skills, but emphasise on those that would be useful in a particular job.
