Home Zone Planning Day

The Help the Designers Event is to be held on Saturday 19th October, from 10.30am - 4.00pm.

This event will be held on the Westloats Lane Recreation Ground.

A major part of the day will involve an example of a home zone street being drawn onto the grass using a sports line marker. Two or more colours could be used for this to show the current layout, and also a range of options.

By creating an actual size plan, movable objects will be added, such as street furniture, trees etc. Features such as a play area and parking spaces will also included, encouraging children and adults to experience the space and appreciate that parking and access will still be available.

Children's games and consultation walks for the adults are ideas that could be held during the day within the 'street'.

A large marquee will house the more traditional consultation exercises, including maps on which comments could be added, announcement of the logo design competition for the school children and feedback from the baseline data collection.

A local external catering company and ice cream van will also be invited to the event.

Many of the details are still being finalised.

SoRA are liaising with the Arun District Council Events Department over the arrangements for this day.
